| Country | Cost | Quality | Travel | Our verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Romania | Lowest in EU | High | ~3 hrs | #1 — best all-round balance |
| Poland | Low | High | ~2.5 hrs | Strong, shortest flights |
| Hungary | Low–mid | High | ~2.5 hrs | Great for full-mouth |
| Turkey | Lowest overall | Variable | ~4 hrs | Cheap but highest risk |
Romania combines full EU regulation, dentists with strong implantology training, and the keenest prices in Europe. Clinics in Bucharest and other cities routinely handle complex full-mouth cases using premium implant brands at roughly a third of UK prices. It’s where we place the majority of our patients because the quality-to-price ratio is simply the best — and EU membership means the same consumer and medical protections you’d expect at home.
Poland offers excellent value and the shortest flights from the UK, with Krakow and Warsaw as the main hubs. Standards are high and EU-regulated. Prices are a touch above Romania but still a fraction of the UK, making it a strong choice, particularly for single implants and straightforward full-arch work.
Budapest has been Europe’s dental-tourism capital for decades, with deep expertise in full-mouth and complex restorative cases. Head-term competition makes the city well known; prices are slightly higher than Romania and Poland but the experience base is exceptional.
Turkey is the cheapest and most aggressively marketed destination, and there are good clinics there. But it’s also where most of the cautionary stories originate: very high-volume “package” clinics, a tendency to fit crowns where implants were expected, and patchy follow-up. As a non-EU country the regulatory and consumer protections differ. If you go, vetting the specific clinic matters more here than anywhere.
We weight five things: clinical quality and accreditation, implant expertise, value for money, ease and length of travel, and the strength of warranty and aftercare. Romania wins on the blend of all five for the typical UK patient — which is why it’s our default recommendation unless your case points elsewhere.

For most UK patients, Romania — it offers EU standards, strong implant expertise and the best value in Europe. Poland and Hungary are also excellent.
Both are excellent. Romania usually edges it on price for the same quality; Hungary has exceptional depth of experience for complex full-mouth cases. We match the choice to your specific case.
Turkey is cheapest and has some good clinics, but it’s where most problems are reported — high-volume clinics, over-treatment and weak follow-up, outside EU regulation. If you go, vet the clinic very carefully.
EU countries like Romania, Poland and Hungary, because they follow European medical and consumer-protection standards. Safety ultimately depends on the specific accredited clinic.
Within the EU, Romania is typically the cheapest for full-mouth work at around £6,000–£9,000 for both arches. Turkey can be cheaper still but carries more risk.
